The client is a local yoga instructor. She had a wordpress website that was getting rather cluttered and dated. She was repeating testimonials, class details and event details several times in content pages. Having seen Umbraco's back end she found it to be rather more intuitive so we re-wrote the website in Umbraco and added in the ability to re-use content across screens.
She now maintains one list of each of these.
Her user experience is now much simplified. She can now add events and we have coded the site to filter out those that have already occurred.
Following the recent changes with Covid19 she is now running classes online and has also has to change the way she runs her physical classes requiring people to pre-book.
We have built in this functionality.
From a technology point of view the website is built on Umbraco V8. This in turn uses .NET framework 4.7.2.
We have a bunch of regular functions that we use in our proprietary class library to make things easier. This contains things such as an injectable SMTP service to handle email notifications for contact forms.
We styled the templates using bootstrap but used partial views for things such as the class lists to enable reuse across several main views.
We are still adding to the application while the client figures out how to market herself and classes online.
